Expose The Hypocrisy

$175K For Jimmy Fund

The infamous David Ortiz "cursed" jersey recently unearthed at the new Yankee Stadium has brought in quite a few dollars for the Jimmy Fund.

David Ortiz’ shirt may have been “cursed,” but a Red Sox [team stats] fan’s brilliant practical joke on the New York Yankees has fetched $175,100 at auction for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s Jimmy Fund.

“We’re absolutely thrilled,” Jimmy Fund spokesman Janet Haley Dubow told the Herald.

A week’s worth of fever-pitch bidding on Ebay - that began last Thursday at $511 - to snag the storied Major League Baseball jersey ended at 12:30 p.m. today.

Bronx cement mason Gino Castignoli entombed it in two feet of concrete last year in the Yankees’ new stadium to doom his home team to decades of bad baseball, but upon finding out, the quaking Evil Empire dug it up April 13 with jackhammers.

The Yankees may suck, but they did a pretty good thing.

Mr. X,

There you go slinging insults again. Right from the lib playbook (I borrowed this from somewhere .......)

1. Avoid factual arguments, they're usually against you anyway.

2. If for some obscure reason the facts actually fall your way (an extremely rare occurrence) then repeat them endlessly regardless of the reply of your conservative opponent. Remember time is limited, use this against him.

3. Get as personal and vicious as you can, maybe it will distract your opponent from his train of thought.

4. If you are unable to insult him with the usual insults such as 'racist', 'homophobe', or 'bigot', then insult someone else on his side (someone related to the subject under discussion is preferable but not required).

5. When you're losing, and you usually will be, abruptly change the subject. Again the object of this is to distract and deflect attention from your opponent's argument.

6. Talk loudly and rapidly, don't allow your opponent to get a word in. Remember the more time you consume, the less time your opponent will have.

7. Use hyperbole as an example of your opponent's argument and suggest that that is what they are suggesting.

8. Purposely misunderstand what is being said by your opponent and distort it into something you can use.

9. Make up 'facts' most people don't check them and anyway, you'll be long gone by the time the truth is known, and so will the audience.

10. Expect perfection. Focus on the slightest flaw in your opponent's argument, any kind of mistake, grammatical, spelling, contextual, anything no matter how slight is sufficient to deflect attention away from how vacuous your arguments are.

11. Act insulted. Take umbrage at the slightest contradiction and act as if it is a personal insult. This will make your personal attack seem warranted and just.

12. Mug the camera or audience while your opponent is speaking, make faces, sneering is good, head-shaking better, and looking toward the ceiling is best [notice the avoidance of the word Heaven, Liberals avoid words of a religious nature WM]. Let the audience know you disagree with your opponent (even if you’ve no idea what he’s saying)

13. Use condescending laughter as much as you can. It serves two purposes, first, it dismisses your opponent as being unworthy of your respect and second, it shows your contempt for his arguments. This is a very powerful tool and can really annoy your opponent and disrupt his train of thought.

14. You’re an arrogant Liberal; demonstrate your obvious intellectual superiority by acting in a condescending manner.

15. Forget how many of the wealthiest in this nation are Liberals, always beat the drum of “Rich Republicans” and “working class Democrats.”

16. Finally, always remember style trumps substance. Know it, Live it.

As for the "stolen election", you may want to re-read the Constitution Mr. X.

V! Either you got up too early or on the wrong side of the bed...wow! You're so tightly wrapped up in your rulers instructions that you overplay your hand and make it obvious to the casual observer that you really don't believe half what you are saying but you feel you must defend the right wingers or your "Red Queen" will chop off your head! You do seem to be an above average (C+)student of rhetorical devices and it makes me wonder where and why you are so well versed? Your psychological make-up is rather intriguing but then so is my dog's. Have a nice day!

Mr. X......the king of the left handed compliment.

Do you think the whole "curse" thing is as stupid as I do?

Posted by: V at April 25, 2008 09:31 AM

Well,V, speaking of cursing, I try to avoid taking God's name in vain, in other words I don't go around saying "God damn America!" that's why I'm hoping Hillary the Great gets the nomination and stops the milatary-industrial-McCain complex Orwellian plans for a 100 year war. Take your blinkers off, get your head staight and think about what John Kerry asked in 1973..the boys and girls in Iraq are wondering the same thing.."will I be the last to die in a lost cause." As we use to say in 1968: STOP THE WAR! Hillary is the only option to return sanity...ain't she somethin'? She'll make a fine president

Mr. X;

I believe that was in 1971, not 1973.

"Capt. James Warner had already spent four years in Vietnamese custody when he was handed a copy of [Kerry's] testimony by his captors. Warner says that for his captors, [Kerry's]statements "were proof I deserved to be punished." He wasn't released until March 14, 1973.

"...Maj. Kenneth Cordier, an Air Force pilot who was in Vietnamese custody for 2,284 days, says his captors "repeated incessantly" [Kerry's] one-liner about being "the last man to die" for a lost cause. Cordier was released March 4, 1973. [As a side note Mr. X, this HERO had been in prison MY ENTIRE LIFE up to that point.]

Navy Lt. Paul Galanti says [Kerry's] accusations "were as demoralizing as solitary (confinement) ... and a prime reason the war dragged on." He remained in North Vietnamese hands until February 12, 1973..."

Funny, in 1968 maybe you were doing too much acid to really know what was going on. Or maybe you just didn't want to flee to Canada [don't worry if you did; Jimmah pardoned all of them in 1977 (which is why your boy JF'nK has his discharge papers.....)].

I'm getting tired of having to pick "the best of bad options" Mr. X. How about you?

There are VERY good reasons to be afraid of Hillary X-Man.....just ask Vince. Oh, wait, you can't.....never mind.......

Never has so much time been spent on such incidental searches (1971 v. 1973)You really must have been a great public employee; look busy, write a lot of meaningless trivia filled memos and then around 10am put your feet up on the desk and read The Harvard Crimson while listening to NPR on your headset.

Hillary the Great is now the moderate, clearly between McBush and Wright(no, that's not an error)...Maybe you and all the supporters of the war should go to the front if your so convinved...if it's so justifiable/important, why isn't there a draft so we can do it right?

Mr. X;

Your acid reduced memory leads you astray yet again. Far from being a public employee here. I'm sorry that your feathers get a little ruffled when I correct your rantings. We should all try to be accurate.

I don't remember ever having a discussion with you in which I declared that I am a supporter of the war.

If you had ever been in the military (well, since about 1966 anyway), you'd already know why there isn't a draft. It isn't the personnel that is the problem X-man. It's the ROE.

Hillary is moderating only to fool the likes of you. Once she does (fool you), look out.

We'd only have to put up with McCain for 4 Mr. X. Hill takes the 8.
